The nose being such a distinguishing part of the face, the natural beauty of its shape and structure can make such an impression that it is the way people remember you. Sometimes it can be easy to think that the nose that we were given at birth is the nose with which we think we’re stuck for the rest of our lives. For others, genetic abnormalities, accidents causing physical disfiguration and health problems, or other internal structural problems leave them with a nose that, many times, negatively affects the way others perceive them, and even the way they live their lives.
Rhinoplasty is not only useful for aesthetic purposes, but can be used for more practical and essential corrections.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RHINOPLASTY
More commonly referred to as nose reshaping, rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure designed to either help you reach the aesthetic goals you have for your nose and face, or correct abnormalities that are otherwise unchangeable. Either in combination with other facial procedures in order to acheive an even more proportionate look, or by itself to achieve your desired goal, an experienced surgeon will carefully sculpt the bone and cartilage in order to give it the shape upon which you and the surgeon agree during consultation. Most incisions (in what is known as seamless rhinoplasty) are placed inside the nose where they are least visible. This procedure allows for no visible external scars and discomfort is minimized with the contemporary techniques.
1. Pre-Op Consultation

CRITICAL PRE-OP CAUTIONARY NOTE
It is absolutely essential that that you avoid all aspirin, aspirin-related, ibuprofen or blood-thinning medications for 2 full weeks prior to your surgery. In your pre-op consultation, we will give you a complete list of these drugs. For our patients, we also provide a password-protected link allowing you to download the list onto your computer. If in doubt about a specific medication, do not take it, call the office first and ask if it is on the forbidden list.
